About water and filtration
Is it risky to drink tap water?
It depends on the surrounding conditions. Chlorine is a predominant additive in tap water. Moreover, it is usually polluted with rust, lead, chloroform, oils.
Why is tap water insipid and smelly?
Tap water flavour reflects chlorine and rust contained in it. Furthermore, the disagreeable flovour is aggravated by chlororganics- the result of chlorine and organic matter interaction.
Is chlorine hazardous?
According to the Federal Food Safety Standards, chlorine concentration in tap water is acceptable and safe. However, partially this fact has been disproved, as even in minute concentration, chlorine affects overall health of asthmatic or highly allergic individuals. Even worse, chlorine interacting with water organic matter, forms chlororganics, e.g. chloroform.
Is rain water potable?
Earth atmosphere is no cleaner than lands, rivers, lakes, and sees; raindrops trap whatever substances float in the air. This accounts for the phenomenon of acid rains and radioactive fallouts.
Is boiling treatment a panacea?
As it was mentioned above, boiling kills bacteria and considerably reduces volatile elements content; however, water evaporation brings about solid matter concentration in turn. Therefore, boiled water is not invariably better than raw water.
Supposedly, filters can release the sifted impurities back in water. Does this apply to Aquamarine filters?
Household water filters Aquamarine use a special adsorbent of silver-treated activated charcoal from coconut shell and ion-exchange resins. The adsorbent material has been elaborated to comply with laboratory water research data and supplied by Bayer German Group and Rom and Haas, British company. Desorbing organic matter trapped in Aquamarine filter would require an effort, hardly feasible in house conditions.
Can filtered water sustain in storage?
Aquamarine filter totally removes free chlorine cells, whose function includes killing bacteria and conserving water. This is why filtered water in uncured state might breed microorganisms. As a result, water might must.
Is bottled water better?
Home-produced and imported bottled water is usually merely tap in origin, but processed (this does not apply to natural spring water, though). Whereas bottled water processing principles considerably draw on those used in Aquamarine devices, the output from the two is of more or less the same quality. Full advantage of water filter device becomes
obvious, however, if we compare the costs of 1 l. filtered water (around 70 kopecks) and bottled water (2 rubles, on average).
Is Aquamarine device good for country house conditions?
As we mentioned above, well water is in demand of decontaminating from extraneous matter from the surrounding fields, highways, animal farms, etc. Aquamarine filter will not only fence water from organic matter and high-density metals, but also expel pathogenic bacteria.
Why does pure and clear artesian well water get yellowish and drumly eventually?
Artesian water flowing from deep seated aquifer is normally filled with mineral salts including ferrous iron ions. There are acreages in Kaliningrad region where iron cations concentration is as high as 30 mg/l at the MPC of 0.3 mg/l. Interaction with air oxydates ferrous iron into ferric iron, which in normal conditions is accompanied by fine precipitation appearing a red haze to an eye.
Doesn't screening out copper, zinc, manganese, cobalt, and nickel cations derive human organism of essential microelements?
All these elements are contained in water in a form that our system is unable to digest. Moreover, our bodies do not provide a special excretion mechanism for them, so they circle the route "liver-intestines-blood" burdening the organism with additional toxics and eventually leading to all kinds of diseases. Incidentally, all essential microelements and mineral salts can be found in food in sufficient amount.
How can we thwart rust stains in the sink, bath, tub, and toilet?
Rust on bathroom fixtures is insoluble colloid ferrous hydroxide. Rust particles, just like other insoluble substances are entrapped by Aquamarine filtration device and thwarted in damaging our body mechanisms, however cleaning all the water in the house to the level of potable would be a costly attempt. What's the solution? Check out input filters!
What is an input filter?
Input filtering device screens water from solid matter. The matter ranges in size from fairly large grains to a vague haze. Acting as a sieve, input filter retains harmful particles. The greater the sieve mesh is the greater particles get through it. The sieve mesh size for input filtering devices is determined by filtering material and structure.
What kind of adsorbent do Aquamarine filters contain?
The main infiltration space in Aquamarine appliance is filled with extrafine granular activated charcoal produced from coconut shell and ion-exchange resins. Uniquely high sorptive capacity and spacious interface with water enable charcoal to thoroughly clean water from active chlorine, carbolic acid, chlororganic compounds, oils, and pesticides- all this within seconds of contacting water. Ion-exchange resin reduces water hardness, withdraws high-density metals and iron salts, normally rendering water distinctive yellowish tinge. The mixture is tightly pressed, which excludes a possibility of indirect channel formation, by-passing adsorbents (provided flow resistance is low).

Aquamarine product profile
How are domestically produced and imported cartridges different?
They are identical in their composition. However, domestic ones fit more tightly in water filter funnel and they are more appealing in price too. Again, this is achieved by works location in the free economic zone.
How big are Aquamarine production capacities?
They are sufficient to provide product for all European countries at this point.
Is Aquamarine planning to update water filter system?
Yes, on the yearly basis.
Is Aquamarine production technology in any way different from German's?
No, all technological processes are automatic, thus analogous.
What kind of plastic material is used?
Aquamarine employs SAN material (Italy) exclusively. Best in Europe, albeit expensive, this material has quality certificates of the leading countries worldwide. Aquamarine uses only the best European raw materials in production.
Why is MEMO indicator absent at Aquamarine jug type water filter systems?
МЕМО indicator is nothing more than production companies trick. Allegedly, it indicates the best moment to change cartridges. A customer is driven into frequent cartridge change, thus enhancing production company's sales rates. Such indicator is a mere time meter with no relation to water quality. Moreover, it gets frequently damaged and is incompatible with dishwashing machines, thus compounding filtration system washing; the cracks between the lid and indicator provide ideal climate for bacteria dissemination. MEMO is widely disapproved by housewives and poses a serious problem.
Normally 99 % of our customers are able to determine the change time for cartridge judging from filtered water quality. Usual life span for our cartridges is 4 weeks. Naturally, its life span is longer in soft water areas as compared to hard water areas.
